How to find a beaver run under the ice, by sound

This is a great teaching video for a trapper that has to find a beaver run under the ice. You can hear the difference in the ice from the beaver run to the rest of the ice around the the run. I have never used this method, but you can hear the difference when this trapper tap the ice with his metal spad.

I can tell you that you need to be very carefull when standing next to a beaver house or on top of a run. The beaver activity will cause the ice to be thinner than the rest of the ice around it.
